Election May Affect Health Care Reform

Democrats to Change or Repeal Business Tax from Health Care Reform

One provision of health care reform may be getting repealed or changed today as a tax reporting law for small businesses has come under scrutiny. Democrats included a provision in reform that requires small businesses to file a 1099 form for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) when supplies or services cost over $600 in a year.

The provision in the health insurance legislation is expected to raise $16 billion but would require loads of paper work for small businesses and the IRS.
